چکیده

Bioadhesive polymeric hydrogels capable of firm adhesion to various biological tissues have acquired considerable attention due their significance in medicine and dentistry. Thus far many types bioadhesive been investigated using different polymers such as polyacrylates, poly(ethylene glycol)s, the derivatives polysaccharides proteins, while less has paid polyamphoteric properties cross-linked polymer networks. The aim this study is investigate synthesized by copolymerizing acrylic acid with N,N-dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide presence N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide. Tissue hydrated gels was evaluated vitro excised porcine intestine a substrate, data were compared that measured for pure poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel system extensively studied ever. In study, it demonstrated incorporation small fraction cationic monomer gives rise formation exhibit toward mucosa. results mechanistic revealed enhancement cation primarily increased density carboxylic acids are interacting mucosal components. Furthermore, suggested dynamic behaviors segments an additional effect on enhanced mucoadhesion.

Structural Parameters and Swelling Behavior of pH Sensitive Poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid) Hydrogels

In the present work, hydrogels based on acrylamide (AAm) and acrylic acid (AAc), crosslinked with N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide (MBAAm) were prepared by free radical polymerization in solution. The effect of initial AAm/AAc mole ratio and nominal crosslinking ratio (moles of crosslinking agent/moles of polymer repeat unit) on the dynamic and equilibrium swelling behaviour of hydrogels was investi...

Effect of compression on fast swelling of poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid) superporous hydrogels.

Superporous hydrogels (SPHs) swell to a large size in a very short time. In many applications it is preferred to compress SPHs to reduce the overall dimension in the dried state. The effects of compression on the swelling property of SPHs were examined. The swelling property of the compressed SPHs was dependent on the orientation of the SPHs during compression. If SPHs were compressed in an ori...

Hydrogels of Poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid): In-vitro Study on Release of Gentamicin Sulfate

Poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid) hydrogels, poly(AAm-co-AAc), were synthesized by free radical polymerization in solution using N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide (MBAAm) as the crosslinker. The structural parameters and the swelling behavior of the synthesized hydrogels were investigated for varying nominal crosslinking ratio and composition of the hydrogels. The use of hydrogels for drug release was...

Mucin/poly(acrylic acid) interactions: a spectroscopic investigation of mucoadhesion.

Studies using infrared, (1)H and (13)C nuclear magnetic resonance, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies and differential scanning calorimetry support the hypothesis that hydrogen bonds, formed between the carboxylic acid functionality of the mucoadhesive material poly(acrylic acid) and the glycoprotein component of mucus, play a significant role in the process of mucoadhesion. There are fewer...

Brillouin light-scattering from poly(acrylic acid) hydrogels

The Brillouin shift and width for poly(acrylic acid) hydrogels have been obtained as a function of gel network volume fraction using a five-pass Fabry-Pdrot interferometer. A conspicuous peak has been observed in the Brillouin shift at high volume fraction. The results are discussed in the light of a theory for the Brillouin light-scattering from gels proposed by Marqusee and Deutch-
